Sex conference probes footballers, boomers
THE sex lives of baby boomers and footballers' attitudes to women are set to be under the microscope at a sex conference on the Gold Coast next week. Hundreds of sexual health workers, academics and medical practitioners will discuss the latest research and developments in sexual heath at the Australasian Sexual Health Conference. Four key themes will be addressed – sex and sport, older women's sexuality, chlamydia and HIV rates in Africa. Dr Angela Williams, from the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, will present her work with the AFL in teaching elite sportsmen about “respectful behaviours”. The presentation will explore whether the availability and popularity of adult online dating, gyms and health fads, sex toys and cosmetic treatments are “indicative of a need for assistance in (baby boomer's) sexuality”.
