A BLACKMANS Bay doctor's gross sexual misconduct during the treatment of several female patients was ``criminal in nature'' and he should have been barred from practice forever, the Supreme Court heard yesterday. Dr Ulhas Lad, 61, was suspended for professional misconduct by the Medical Complaints Tribunal for seven months from November last year.Mr Gunson said patient ``AB'' consulted Dr Lad for back pain in April 2003. During a consultation the doctor made her strip naked in front of him to be weighed, closely examined her genitals and separated her buttocks explaining he ``needed to take a look''.
He fondled her buttocks and breasts and as she left pushed himself against her, revealing a state of arousal. Dr Lad told the woman he had fantasised about watching her in the shower, had masturbated in front of her and had closed his eyes and smiled as he squeezed her buttock after administering a painkiller injection. A second patient, ``CD'', was also told to strip naked during a routine examination and had been subjected to inappropriate comments that she was hairy. Three other patients had complained Dr Lad asked questions about their sexual practices, subjected them to rough buttock parting or conducted unnecessary internal examinations. |
