Several U.S. Supreme Court justices expressed doubt on Tuesday that a law barring child pornography could be applied to popular award-winning movies like "Lolita," "Traffic," American Beauty" and "Titanic."
The justices appeared to support the pandering provision of a 2003 federal law that makes it a crime to promote, distribute or solicit material in a way intended to cause others to believe it contains child pornography. They were hearing arguments in a case brought by the Bush administration urging them to uphold the law, after a U.S. appeals court struck down that provision on the grounds the government cannot suppress lawful free speech.
Bush administration lawyer Paul Clement argued that the law does not illegally infringe on free-speech or other rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. He said the law does not inhibit legitimate creative expression, and drew a distinction between mainstream movies and illegal child pornography.
"If you're taking a movie like 'Traffic' or 'American Beauty', which is not child pornography, and you're simply truthfully promoting it, you have nothing to worry about with this statute," Clement told the justices. "Traffic" has a scene with the high-school daughter of the nation's drug czar appearing to have sex with a drug dealer; "Lolita" portrayed a middle-aged man's obsession with a young girl; "Titanic" depicted a love affair by a young couple on a doomed ship; and "American Beauty" involved a 42-year-old man's attraction to his daughter's best friend.

HANOI (AFP) - Vietnamese authorities have given permission for the first ever exhibition of nude photographs in the conservative communist country, state media and the photographer said Tuesday.
Photographer Thai Phien said he got the go ahead to exhibit 48 of his nude photos in Hanoi between November 24 and 27.
"I was the first photographer in Vietnam that received a licence to open this type of exhibition," he said. Phien said he had to submit his photos to the censors, adding "it's lucky that the authorities accepted them."
He also expects a collection of about 70 of his nude pictures will be published prior to the exhibition.
The Thanh Nien newspaper said "Nude photos have gone on display in Vietnam before, but never has an exhibition consisted solely of nudes."
The daily said censors in the southern commercial centre of Ho Chi Minh City earlier this year refused to allow a similar exhibition by a female artist because "they were not in accordance with Vietnamese customs and morality".

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Red Light District has confirmed to AVN that it will release Amy Fisher Caught On Tape, an explicit sex video featuring "Long Island Lolita" Amy Fisher and her husband Lou Bellera.
“This is unbelievable – it's by far the best celebrity sex tape anybody will ever see," Red Light District owner David Joseph told AVN. "The quality’s amazing, Amy is amazing – you've just got to see it!"
Joseph said that Bellera approached him with the footage in May and quickly brokered a deal. At the time, Bellera had filed for divorce from Fisher. The New York Post reports that the couple reconciled over the summer - but Bellera did not tell Fisher that he sold the footage to RLD until this month.
"I did it out of the heat of anger and passion," Bellera told the Post. "We were estranged. She was seeing Joey. I was seething about the whole thing. It just came to a point where I was hurt and embarrassed by it...and it pressed the wrong button. I just used that as a vehicle to strike back at her." According to the Post, Fisher is "willing to forgive" Bellera. "I don't want to see it," she said. "It's better for me if I just don't think about it. I'm just going to hide in my house." Joseph told AVN that Red Light is gearing up to launch the official website for Amy Fisher Caught on Tape.

The charity's chief executive, Peter Robbins, said: "Our analysts witness the results of terrible sexual abuse being inflicted on very young children around the world and then circulated online. "With the help of the online industry, the 28 hotlines we work with around the world and our law enforcement colleagues, the public can help us to remove these websites and end the abuse that is perpetuated every time the images are viewed." Through the hotline, the IWF offers a "notice and take-down" service to police and internet service providers. The internet companies will run adverts on their websites and among e-mail customers as part of an awareness day. The charity said of all the sites reported to them in 2007 just 1% could be traced back to a UK server, compared with 18% 10 years ago. The IWF said so far this year it had passed on details of 2,092 child sexual abuse websites to police and child protection agencies. The awareness day will be followed by a series of regional presentations for professionals concerned with tackling online sexual abuse of children.

Paris Hilton has not gotten over her amateur porn tape scandal. Employees at a Toronto adult video store claim Paris stormed into their place and demanded posters promoting her infamous sex tape be removed. Paris threw a fit while disguised in a skeleton costume and mask, a store manager told CTV News. The hotel heiress, who is in the city filming “Repo: The Genetic Opera,” allegedly ordered employees to take down their "One Night in Paris" movie displays in the front window. CTV News viewed the incident captured on surveillance video. "You guys can't use my image in a porn store," a woman said to be Hilton. "I'm going to call my lawyer and sue the (expletive) out of this place." A woman is tearing down posters in the store. "I really want them down because they're mean and this is not right. I'm really serious, this is disgusting," she says. "And I want the other ones too or I'm calling the (expletive) cops." The Store owners said about 30 minutes after the woman left, a man identifying himself as Hilton's manager came in and told them to keep the incident quiet. They said the man claimed if any security video of the incident was leaked, the store owners could be sued for defamation of character. The owners of the store said they were negotiating with two U.S. tabloid entertainment shows for exclusive rights to the footage. Offers as high as $50,000 were reportedly made for the tape. Let me guess, TMZ
