MOST voters believe John Howard's push to improve Aboriginal communities is nothing more than a vote-grabbing stunt, the latest Galaxy poll figures reveal. The Prime Minister's radical intervention into decaying indigenous communities has elicited a deeply cynical response by electors. Some 58 per cent of voters believe Mr Howard is addressing problems in the communities because of the looming election, the exclusive Galaxy opinion poll found. Just 25 per cent said Mr Howard launched the intervention because he really cares about the problem. But if Mr Howard is aiming to boost his election chances, the plan is not paying immediate dividends, Galaxy found.
