Forget the cars, Clubbing is talking about the Indy Undy Ball, next Saturday night (October 21) at Billy's Beach House. The one place where it is guaranteed that less is more, the Indy Undy Ball is a chance to flaunt the body beautiful and check out everyone around. The Indy Undy Ball has become so popular it is now the biggest off-track event held during Indy race week, creating high levels of excitement as barely-dressed guys and girls strut their stuff. A night of fun and no inhibitions, people can cut loose and come dressed in anything from jocks to frilly socks to a g-string and garter belt.
This year, the Indy Undy Ball will be held in three separate rooms, with the main room pumping out Top 40 music, upstairs devoted to dance and chill-out tunes out by the pool. The Stafford Brothers will headline the night and eight more DJs will keep crowds bouncing. Some of the best bodies in Australia will also join in the fun, with guest appearances by some raunchy celebrities to be announced soon. So, while the streets gear up for high-octane racing during Indy, thousands of revellers will be tanning, toning and talking about the Gold Coast's sexiest annual event. *Radio Metro presents the Indy Undy Ball on Saturday, October 21, at Billy's Beach House, in Surfers Paradise. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are available from Billy's Beach House and Ticketek. BYRON Bay's legendary sell-out favourite retro night, Solid Gold, returns to the Great Northern Hotel on Saturday. Gopher Gold and Rock Hardson (pictured) are, respectively, the brains and the body behind this amazing event, which has turned into a cult phenomenon. Speaking by laser phone from their sub-space tax haven, both say they feel the time is right for them to re-enter the atmosphere and bring some of their lycra love back to earth. ``We love bringing our fans the funk from the '70s, the pop from the '80s and maybe some new breakdance moves from space,'' says Gopher. Hardson says his time in orbit has given him a new perspective. ``We see a future where world leaders and poor white trash disco wannabes can share the stage in badly choreographed dance routines, kind of like at ASEAN conferences, but with better outfits,'' he says. To that end, this weekend sees the first ever Solid Gold talent quest, pitting thousands of hopefuls against each other in a contest to strut their stuff before the admiring masses. *Solid Gold plays the Great Northern Hotel, in Byron Bay, on Saturday. |
