FALLEN football great Warwick Capper has hit a new low by attempting to carve out a career as a porn star.
Capper, 44, has made an X-rated movie with his 25-year-old Gold Coast girlfriend Kristy and sold it for a ``six-figure sum'' to an adult film distributor.
Capper, who last month was accused by ex-wife Joanne of never having paid child support, shot the movie at his Gold Coast home.
Since his heyday with the Sydney Swans in the 1980s - at one stage becoming the AFL's highest-paid player - Capper's fortunes have slumped as he tried anything to maintain a public profile.
He has been a stripper, a Gold Coast meter man, a lollipop man and a stay-at-home dad. He recently announced he would stand as a mayoral candidate in next March's Gold Coast council elections.
Capper has also launched a website selling memorabilia from his playing days, called warrickcapper.com.au - with his name misspelled.
The movie, lasting an hour and nine minutes, has been bought by a Melbourne distributor for a six-figure sum, and is set to feature on a US website. Capper said the film was ``tastefully'' compiled.
Stills of the movie viewed by the Sunday Mail show the film is hardcore and anything but tasteful. ``I've had a lot of practice being a sex symbol so if you've got it, flaunt it,'' Capper said.
``It's every man's fantasy. I think I'm Australia's answer to Paris Hilton. Someone also said I am like David Beckham. I'm a good-looking footballer with the same quick wit.''
Capper said his 13-year-old son Indiana didn't know about his latest exploits.
Ex-wife Joanne last month told A Current Affair the former Swans and Brisbane Bears player had never paid child support.
Her lawyer Stephen Baldwin said one payment of $885.20 had been made as part of the property settlement during the couple's 2005 divorce but Capper had made no further contribution to his son's maintenance.
The film's buyer, Robert, who did not disclose his surname, said he was a long-time Swans fan. ``He's got a remote control, zooming in and zooming out,'' Robert said. ``That is an hour and nine minutes of non-stop action.''
He said he was dealing with a US company, but added: ``I'm just waiting on the bench because once everyone knows about it; they are all going to come running. I'm sure it's going to collect over the $800,000 to $900,000 mark.
``I've had some offers so far, but . . . I want more than what I paid. There is a company over there (in America) that I'm dealing with at the moment.
``At the end of the day his name says it all, and porno would be the next word I could think of. Warwick Capper's gone XXX.''
In his prime, the flamboyant forward kicked 388 goals in his 123 games with Sydney and Brisbane. Since then he has achieved notoriety posing nude for Penthouse, being kicked off Celebrity Big Brother, releasing a single Called Ripping Undies and being beaten up on the set of the film Yobbo Up The Guts.
He currently manages a real-estate centre on the Gold Coast. |
