Film pirates and those who sell pirated films should clearly understand that copyright protection by AICO and its members is ongoing. If you pirate our members’ films you run the risk of being pursued in the Courts.” The action seeks both interlocutory and final injunctions, delivery up of counterfeit product, damages and additional damages for the infringement of copyright in AICO studio members’ films. The matter!will be before the Court for the first time!on 9 November 2006 where it is anticipated that the Court will set a timetable for the pre-trial steps. In earlier proceedings in 2005 in the Federal Magistrates Court, Sydney, Kaos and Theo Armenis conceded that they had infringed the copyright of certain Wicked Pictures’ films. Damages and costs were awarded against Kaos and Theo Armenis in that matter. For further information contact Graeme Dunne at AICO on: (ph) 02 9328 5527 (mob) 0413 222 142 or
