Amsterdam's mayor Job Cohen laid out plans Monday to curb prostitution in the Dutch city, replacing many of the notorious red-light "windows" with upmarket restaurants and art galleries.

"We are going to clean up, and massively cut down on the number of prostitutes' windows and coffee shops (selling soft drugs), and fast-food joints," said Cohen at a press conference.

While he said that prostitution would not be outlawed entirely, specific streets and squares within the city's historic centre would be banned from housing sex commerce.

Spain's government-run Women's Institute has labelled a 2008 calendar for low-cost airline Ryanair featuring bikini-wearing air hostesses as sexist and said it would be sending letters of complaint to Irish and EU authorities.

Vivid Entertainment Group has filed suit against Data Conversions Inc., the owners of VOD giant AEBN, for illegally posting and allowing users to post copyrighted material on the free adult website PornoTube.com.

Filed Dec. 6 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Vivid’s lawsuit claims copyright infringement, misappropriation of the right of publicity and unfair business practices. The lawsuit states that “among other things, defendants copied, published, distributed, and publicly displayed Vivid’s copyrighted works by and through the website PornoTube.com.”
